EGYPTIAN MURAL

Inspired by a wall painting at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna

1843/1873

The motif for this bangle is inspired by a wall mural by Ernst Weidenbach (1818-1882). The original wall painting is in the Egyptian tomb of Khnumhotep II at Beni Hassan, 12th Dynasty (ca. 1870 B.C.). It includes a hunting scene as well as a caravan of Asiatics with lute players and donkeys. The donkeys are carrying children and goods, among them eye makeup for Khnumhotep.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of this product goes to support the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
