“Since its founding in 1870, the Metropolitan Museum has gathered an impressive collection of European, American and non-Western instruments. Today this assemblage of musical instruments is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind outside Europe. The Museum’s renowned Concert and Lecture Series, which began in 1954, features commentaries, demonstrations, and performances by some of the world’s greatest musicians using many of the instruments in the Museum’s collection. This CD, from the Museum’s Spanish guitar series, features renowned guitarists Pepe Romero, CelÃn Romero, and Angel Romero performing classic works by Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Enrique Granados, and others.
